2. Cut down on sugary and acidic foods as they encourage bacteria growth and also lower the pH of the oral environment. This results in tooth erosion and dental decay.

3. Your saliva prevents mineral loss in teeth. Avoid frequent snacking as it disrupts the work of saliva and promotes harmful mouth acidity.

4. Drink enough water to maintain the quantity and quality of the saliva so as to preserve its protective function.

5. Reduce the alcohol intake. Alcohol erodes the enamel on the outside of your teeth, leading to erosion and risk of dental decay.

6. Cut the smoking! This increases your risk of gum disease, breathing problems and lung cancer.

7. Get a whiter smile. Cut down on coffee, tea, smoking, wine as these cause stains on your teeth.

8. Go for your regular dental checkup every 6 months.
